The movie starts when Alex was in Africa with his father and the hunters came to capturate Alex to sell him to another place. Alex's father tried to stop the hunters but he though he can't reach it. Alex was in a box that arrives to New York by the sea and after that Alex was living in a Zoo in New York. In that place he meets Gloria, Marty, Melman and the penguins.
Penguins help this 4 friends to came back to Africa. When they tried to return to New York, the Penguin's Air plain was empty of gas and fell down in Africa in the place that Alex was born but no one of the passagers of the plain know it.
When they started to explore the place they found another animals that were living in Africa since they born, so they are kind of different to them. While the penguins tried to fix the air plane to return to New York, gloria, Marty, Melman and Alex had fun with lots of adventures in that place that they think they had never been.
